KING: Was there any particular reason for you to return to Hugo poetry references after thirty-some years?ĬRUMLEY: The Right Madness is a book I started back in 1975, somewhere back in there, and I was looking for a title. KING: Your latest book, The Right Madness (2005), takes its title from a Richard Hugo poem, “The Right Madness on Skye,” and a much earlier book, The Last Good Kiss (1978) took its title from some lines in another Hugo poem, “Degrees of Grey in Philipsburg.”ĬRUMLEY: I get all my good titles from Hugo poems.
